Birth of Mahatma Gandhi

Mahatma Gandhi was born on October 2, 1869 in the state of Gujarat at a place called Porbandar, Porbandar is a coastal city in the state of Gujarat, his mother's name was Putlibai and father's name was Karamchand Gandhi. Putlibai was the fourth wife of Karamchand Gandhi, three of his wives had died.


Mahatma Gandhi's real name was Mohandas, he was the youngest of his three brothers. His mother was a very religious woman, which had a profound effect on Gandhi's personality. Gandhi's father was first the Diwan of Porbandar and later of Rajkot and Bankaner. Gandhiji was married to Kasturba Makhan in May 1883 at the age of 13.


Education

Mahatma Gandhi's early education was done in Porbandar, where he had studied till middle school, after the transfer of his father, his further education was done in Rajkot. In the year 1887, he passed the High School (Matriculation) examination from Rajkot.


Barrister Studies in England

Gandhiji decided to advocate for further studies, for this he went to England, where he took membership of the London Vegetarian Society, while he was in contact with the Theosophical Society, through the society, he was taught the Bhagavad Gita. given to He stayed in England from 1888 to 1891, when his barrister studies were completed, then he returned to India in the year 1891.


Gandhiji's Africa tour

Mahatma Gandhi was offered by South African businessman Dada Abdulla to be his legal advisor, which he accepted. In the year 1883, Gandhi went to Africa (Durban), there on 31 May 1883, on his way to Pretoria, despite a first class ticket, he was pushed out of the car by a white officer. From which it is known that how much Indians were humiliated there. He lived in South Africa for 20 years to give respect to Indians. There he founded the Natal Indian Congress and fought for the Indians.


Mahatma Gandhi's Arrival in India

Gandhiji returned to India in the year 1915. His political guru Gopal Krishna Gokhale was here. In India, he participated in the Champaran and Kheda Movement (1917–1918), the hunger strike for the rights of the Ahmedabad mill workers in 1918, the Khilafat Movement (1919–1924), the Non-Cooperation Movement (1919–1920), the Civil Disobedience Movement (12 March 1930), Successfully conducted Quit India Movement (August 1942) and got India's independence.


Death of Mahatma Gandhi

Gandhiji was shot dead by Nathuram Godse and his associate Gopaldas at Birla House on 30 January 1948 at 5:17 pm.
